A Note From Our Founder

Headshot of Jane Scott Hodges
Dear Friends and Clients,
For thirty years, Leontine Linens has been rooted in the belief that beauty lives in the details of daily life.
When I founded Leontine Linens in 1996, I was a young bride looking to create beautiful linens that reflected my new and growing family. I admired the heirloom linens saved by generations before me — pieces with delicate hand-created details, artistry, and a sense of permanence. Yet I could not find anything in the marketplace that spoke to me in the same way or offered the same quality. I wanted to create modern heirlooms: beautiful linens made in the same manner they had always been made, but translated for a modern home and a modern life.

Dear Friends and Clients,

For thirty years, Leontine Linens has been rooted in the belief that beauty lives in the details of daily life.

When I founded Leontine Linens in 1996, I was a young bride looking to create beautiful linens that reflected my new and growing family. I admired the heirloom linens saved by generations before me — pieces with delicate hand-sewn details, artistry, and a sense of permanence. Yet I could not find anything in the marketplace that spoke to me in the same way or offered the same quality. I wanted to create modern heirlooms: beautiful linens made in the same manner they had always been made but translated for a modern home and life.

I began by designing bespoke bedding, bath, and table linens for friends and referrals from friends, traveling from New Orleans to see clients across the country. There, I would sit with clients in their homes, learn their stories, and create beauty together. From the beginning, the process was deeply personal. The wait was worth it; each piece is meticulously made by hand, one at a time, with care, intention, and extraordinary technique. That mattered to me — not only the friendships born through this business, but the confidence that what we created together would endure. All good things take time.

Every Leontine creation continues to be hand-sewn using heritage-driven techniques at our treasured atelier, the historic Eleanor Beard Studio in Hardinsburg, Kentucky (founded 1921). A pioneer in the world of luxury linens, Eleanor Beard’s exquisite hand-quilted designs have graced the homes and bedrooms of influential women for 100 years. Acquired by Leontine Linens in 2002, the studio remains the heart of our company and today employs talented women who continue this remarkable tradition — creating each piece by hand, as they always have.

Over the years, it has been an honor to work with discerning clients and interior designers across the country whose passions for art, fashion, travel, entertaining, and home inspire the very linens we create together. Our clients, like our artisans, span generations — mothers, daughters, and granddaughters. In one of life’s greatest gifts, my own daughter, Talley Hodges Pike, joined Leontine Linens in 2022, helping carry our story into its next chapter.

As we celebrate 30 years of Leontine Linens, I do so with profound gratitude. Every stitch tells a story, and it has been the privilege of a lifetime to create pieces that become part of your celebrations, traditions, and everyday lives at home.

Thank you for trusting us to translate your stories into what we hope will become cherished family heirlooms for generations to come.

With gratitude,

Jane Scott Hodges
