Well-made linens can last a lifetime—when they’re properly cared for.

As a brand who’s made its fair share of linens, we’ve also cleaned just as many and know firsthand the do’s, don’t’s, and absolute musts of washing your table linens. And now, we’ll share our insight with you.

When laundering, it’s all about superlatives. We advise using the coldest water setting and the lowest dryer setting without over drying. Avoid soap with perfumes and dyes, sticking only to gentle soap.

While immensely beautiful, we aren’t precious about our table linens. They shouldn’t be kept in a linen closet, only to be seen on special occasions. Linens are made to be used!

Contrary to popular assumption, stains and blemishes are never reasons to panic. They are meant to be loved and adored at dinners with cocktails, sauces, and soups galore. When you come across a stain on your finest linens, just treat them. Refrain from any type of bleaching agent, and instead opt for a cleaning solution like vinegar and water.

When ironing, only press on the reverse side of the fabric to preserve any appliqué or embroidered details. For more on ironing, we divulge our best tips and tricks here.

And lastly, you can always refer to our complete care guide for the full step-by-step tutorial on how to maintain your linens.

Now, go forth, set the table, and use your best napkins and tablecloths!
