Two words: linen boards. You can use these to hold an entire set of placemats, napkins, and more. 

Simply place your linens on top of the board and tie them together with a ribbon. When stacked together in your closet or chest, it becomes oh so simple to peruse the different patterns in your collection at a glance.

Jane Scott Hodges loves this technique in particular for easy mixing and matching as she pulls out everything she needs for setting the table.
