Local talents in Austin, Texas teamed up to do a “real home makeover,” drawing on a vision of a cohesiveness, personality, and functionality to complement the home’s indoor/outdoor way of living.
To create privacy and personality, designers inconspicuously tucked the bathroom behind a set of louvered doors to a hidden powder room and toned down the pattern on pattern wallpaper with a simple yet timeless monogrammed hand towel.
“When it’s too hot to be outside in Austin, people still want to be in sun-filled areas,” says designer Meredith Ellis. In theme with the blue hues of the house, the master bedroom is outfitted in a calming deep Celadon while adding familiarity with the monogrammed sham.
The Addison monogrammed bath towels perfectly complement the freestanding vintage-looking tub and warm the clean décor scheme with the shades of celadon from the master bathroom.
Without compromising the indoor/outdoor theme of the house, the girl’s room takes on a whimsical feel and continues the look of the other rooms by its palm-topped four-poster bed paired perfectly with soft pink monogrammed euros.
Treating the boy’s room like a ship’s quarters because of the long and narrow space, the twin beds reflect the charming irregularity and angled ceiling, with monogrammed boudoirs that add to the masculine manner of the room.
Monograms enliven space. In the Guest Bathroom, the blue monogrammed hand towels and the Paper Bag Brown wallpaper tie the room together to create an inviting identity for company. To see more from the 2018 Idea House, click here.
